Hoyo Cigars, an original Cuban brand, have been produced in Honduras for the U.S. market since 1969. Referred to as "the authentic Honduran", their rich flavor comes from a balanced blend of long-fillers from Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, with a Connecticut broadleaf binder, wrapped in Ecuadorian Sumatra or dark U.S. Connecticut Broadleaf wrappers. It was founded in 1865 by Don José Gener, a respected Cuban tobacco grower. The brand was popular in Great Britain. After Gener's death in 1900, his daughter Lutgarda took over until 1930. Then the Gener family sold the brands to Fernandez, Palicio y Cía.
This unique and delicious blend showcases a perfectly fermented Ecuadorian Sumatra Oscuro wrapper atop bold, complex Nicaraguan long leaves. Bold, incredibly potent, and spicy. Strong is an understatement for this full-bodied premium. Excellent.
