El Viejo Continente was founded in 2013. Its name means "The Old Continent" in Spanish, and the founder is Daniel Guerrero, a Nicaraguan of Spanish origin. The brand's inspiration stems from the story of the crew member Rodrigo bringing tobacco back to Europe in 1492. In 2019, the brand established a factory in Nicaragua, with an annual production of over 1 million cigars. It has 100 employees, 40 of whom are cigar rollers, and it also established an academy to pass on the cigar rolling techniques.
This is a special edition launched to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the brand. It features a chocolate-colored Ecuadorian Havana Maduro wrapper that cleverly encases a secondary wrapper from Jalapa, Nicaragua. It is blended with ingredients sourced from the three core cigar leaf producing areas in Nicaragua: Estelí, Jalapa, and Ometepe Island. The flavor gradually transitions from medium-full to full-bodied, leaving a lingering aftertaste that is truly memorable.
