El Viejo Continente was founded in 2013. Its name means "The Old Continent" in Spanish, and the founder is Daniel Guerrero, a Nicaraguan of Spanish origin. The brand's inspiration stems from the story of the crew member Rodrigo bringing tobacco back to Europe in 1492. In 2019, the brand established a factory in Nicaragua, with an annual production of over 1 million cigars. It has 100 employees, 40 of whom are cigar rollers, and it also established an academy to pass on the cigar rolling techniques.
It has a compact and rich flavor, with a pleasant sweetness, as well as spicy and earthy notes. The dark chocolate-colored Mexican San Andrés wrapper encases an Ecuadorian Havana binder and Nicaraguan filler. It is hand-rolled entirely in Nicaragua. Its rich and complex flavors make it a cigar offering great value for money.
