As one of the oldest cigar brands around today, H. Upmann has come readily to the lips of cigar connoisseurs for well over a century and a half. The name traces its roots back to 1844 when two brothers, August and Hermann Upmann, who are also attributed with the invention of the cedar box as a means to store cigars, started the brand in Havana. These days, the legend of H. Upmann lives on under the watchful eye of cigar master José Seijas. With the rich history and tobacco knowledge under the H. Upmann brand belt, any of the cigars in the lineup are quality premiums worth trying.
The success story for H. Upmann continues with this beauty. This edition of the H. Upmann collaboration project includes a mashup with the one and only Jose Mendez. This cigar was made utilizing the Dominican tobacco processes native to the island of Hispaniola. Utilizing a premium blend of tobaccos from different Dominican farms and tobacco growing regions, with a Dominican binder and an Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf. The result is a complex, medium to full bodied masterpiece with notes of nuts, cedar, and toast.
